Sage Production Management – May 2019 Sage Update

On May 14, 2019, Sage released Sage Production Management as a replacement for the Sage 100 and 100cloud Work Order module. Sage Production Management will offer the same features as Work Order and provide additional benefits including SQL compatibility, dual grids and batch processes, custom office and visual integrator support, and much more. In all, the release contains 70+ new features over what the Work Order module contained.

Sage will release a new Material Requirements Planning (MRP) module compatible with Sage Production Management (PM) on June 28, 2019. Here is the most important information you need to know about these updates.

NOTE:  Do not attempt to install Production Management without consulting your reseller.  Installing Production Management will disable Work Order and MRP modules and make them read-only.

100 Perpetual Customers with Work Order and/or MRP

Starting June 1, 2019, Sage 100 Work Order customers renewing their maintenance and support contract for Sage 100 will receive a $0 license for Sage Production Management in place of Work Order and pay M&S based on the list price of $4,410.

This will be the same with MRP when it is released in June. Customers may continue to use Work Order, but we have created a migration tool to ensure a smooth upgrade process. We will continue to provide support for legacy Work Order and MRP until March 2022.

Sage 100Cloud Customers with Work Order and/or MRP

When you renew Sage 100cloud after June 1, 2019, your Work Order subscription will be replaced with a subscription for Sage Production Management. Sage Production Management is per user (minimum user count of 3) as follows:

Users  Monthly Annual
1-5 $35 $378
6-10 $25 $270
11-25 $15 $162
26+ $9 $97

What this means is that you will see a slight increase in your subscription price at the time that you renew, from $96 per month for Work Order to $105 per month for Sage Production Management. The new Material Requirements Planning extension will be the same price as the legacy module today, which is $96 / month.

You may continue to use legacy Work Order, but we have created a migration tool to ensure a smooth upgrade process. We will continue to provide support for legacy Work Order and MRP until March 2022.

Shop Floor Licenses

Shop Floor User licenses will be available in June 2019 at a reduced rate of $15/user. The licenses allow access to transactional tasks only (labor, material, and completion transactions) using remote devices. The Shop Floor Users will need Manufacturing Mobility for Barcode.

Sage 100Cloud Manufacturing (formerly JobOps) Customers

On September 10, 2019, Sage will release the next generation of Sage 100cloud Manufacturing.

When you renew Sage 100cloud Manufacturing, you will receive a subscription for Sage Production Management – Make to Order users. The pricing for Make to Order users is the same as for Sage 100cloud Manufacturing today.

You may continue to use Sage 100cloud Manufacturing, but we have created a migration tool to ensure a smooth upgrade process.

Sage Production Management Extensions

There will be four extensions available for Sage Production Management:

  • Material Requirements Planning – Available for version 2019 in Product Update 1
  • Make to Order (formerly known as Sage 100cloud Manufacturing or JobOps) – Available for version 2019 in Product Update 2
  • Enhanced Scheduling – Requires Make to Order
  • Product Configurator – Requires Make to Order

Sage now offers three different manufacturing solutions to fit the needs of all types of manufacturers. Assembly manufacturers can use Sage 100cloud with Bill of Materials. Make to stock manufacturers would use Sage Production Management, and make to order manufacturers would use Sage Production Management with the Make to Order extension.

Customers using Enhanced Scheduling and Product Configurator are advised to continue using Sage 100cloud Manufacturing until these features can be added to the Sage Production Management extensions (expected 2020).
